On [DATE], American Public University System combined with Rasmussen University and Hondros College of Nursing to form a single higher education institution. American Public University System (System) now includes American Public University, American Military University, Rasmussen University, and Hondros College of Nursing. The System is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a wholly owned subsidiary of American Public Education, Inc. (APEI). We are continuing to update our website to reflect our new structure.

Benjamin Castro is General Manager of Global Expansion at APUS, where he oversees the strategy and execution of our growth initiatives across diverse markets and regions.

With 24 years of international experience in technology, operations, marketing, customer service, product, and innovation, Mr. Castro has a proven track record of leading and transforming online education organizations.

Before joining APUS, Mr. Castro served as the Chief Executive Officer of UTEL Universidad. UTEL is the largest private online university in Latin America, with more than 150,000 students and alumni in 60 countries. He also served as the Chief Operating Officer for Higher Ed Partners and, earlier in his career, Mr. Castro was also COO for Ilumno (these two companies are among the largest OPM companies serving Latin America, Europe and Africa).

Mr. Castro holds his MBA from IE Business School in Madrid. He has also earned certificates from Northwestern University and The University of Chicago in consumer marketing strategy and global senior management, respectively.
